Rock splitting techniques for reducing undesirable cracks and fissures in rock salt blocks

چکیده
Massive deposits of rock salt are mined in the Salt Range area Pakistan. The main export products include lamps, blocks, and tiles, while local consumption includes chemical industry domestic use. profitable production for value addition depends on quality, size, shape block. processing is easier when very few cracks present blocks. current mining practice involves drilling blasting, which introduces undesired fractures material. This paper focuses extraction blocks by applying conventional cuboid-shaped block methods used quarries. techniques wedges feathers, expansion chemicals, blasting with low-yield explosives. Experimental work involved both laboratory-scale in-situ field testing. Laboratory experiments assisted determination splitting force, load-deformation curves, other mechanics parameters. Regression analysis proposes a relationship estimation radial strain from load case feathers method. force obtained laboratory tests was to confirm accuracy already published empirical relationship. results as well showed that technique most suitable method desired shape, minimizing cracking.

Rock blocks.
Consider representation theory associated to symmetric groups, or to Hecke algebras in type A, or to q-Schur algebras, or to finite general linear groups in non-describing characteristic. Rock blocks are certain combinatorially defined blocks appearing in such a representation theory, first observed by R. Rouquier. Rock blocks are much more symmetric than general blocks, and every block is deri...
متن کاملPresenting an experimental creep model for rock salt
During the recent decades, the design and construction of underground spaces into rock salt have been particularly regarded for storing petroleum fluids, natural gas, and compressed air energy, and also for disposing nuclear and chemical wastes. The rock salt hosting such spaces will be subjected to various types of monotonic/cyclic, short-term/long-term stresses during the construction and/or ...
متن کاملAnalysis of support pressure for stabilization of rock blocks in the Zaker tunnel
This paper presents the results of engineering geological studies of rock blocks along a road tunnel in NW Iran. The tunnel is to cross the Western Alborz Mountain Range through 530 m in length with 11.2 m span and 8 m height. Eocene tuffs and andesites crop out in whole of the tunnel route. Numerical analyses are done using, a 3D stability analysis and visualization program, called Unwedge tha...
متن کاملSpinel–rock salt transformation in LiCoMnO4−δ
The transformation on heating LiCoMnO4, with a spinel structure, to LiCoMnO3, with a cation-disordered rock salt structure, accompanied by loss of 25% of the oxygen, has been followed using a combination of diffraction, microscopy and spectroscopy techniques. The transformation does not proceed by a topotactic mechanism, even though the spinel and rock salt phases have a similar, cubic close-pa...
متن کاملSynthetic Rock Analogue for Permeability Studies of Rock Salt with Mudstone
Knowledge about the permeability of surrounding rock (salt rock and mudstone interlayer) is an important topic, which acts as a key parameter to characterize the tightness of gas storage. The goal of experiments that test the permeability of gas storage facilities in rock salt is to develop a synthetic analogue to use as a permeability model. To address the permeability of a mudstone/salt layer...
